Well, I picked up this boat for super cheap ($340). I’m not sure yet exactly what my plans are for it. It’s a 16ft 50hp with power trim tilt. I got it home to start figuring out what does and doesn’t work. Junked the super sixty depth finder and ancient trolling motor. Trim tilt wasn’t working but I found a cut wire and now it works perfect. I put some fresh gas in and the motor runs real well. I noticed the wiring harness on the motor is in need of changing. The transom is solid so that will save some time and $. I’m going to start tearing in down but not sure when I will start the rebuild. This will be my 4th build on here. The other 3 were bass trackers.

After watching your other builds I cannot wait to see what you do with this one. You always make them look better then when they come from the manufacturer.

Looking forward to another awesome result. Sounds like you bought it at a great price. Who doesn't want a Bass Boss!?

All stripped. I have to say, these TERRY boats are not built to the standards that the 80s bass trackers were. Seems like everything is made from thinner aluminum even the floor frames. Next up will be pressure washing everything then fill it up with water and see how many leaks it has.

This motor cleaned up so nice for a 78’.....I don’t even think I need to order decals for it like I have done in the past builds.

I know. That 1978 outboard looks better than my 2018 model. I'm being shamed into washing my boat, I guess.

Wow that motor looks great. I know nothing about mercury motors from the 70s. Are they desirable outboards?

I think the late 70s and 80s were some great motors. They had one flaw and that was the insulation on the wires degraded quickly. Every single one I have gotten that didn’t run at all or run well, I put a new wire harness on and good as new.
