Another treasure from our recent trip to Indiana. This was my Step-dad's miter saw. They were made from 1905 till 1972. This one is from the '50s. It's never been "restored", just used. The neat thing about it is that it has all of it's parts. It had a sacrificial board over the original base board that I removed. I'm not planning on doing a restoration and putting it on display, but rather just clean it up and use it. That's what he would have wanted.

Very nice, I love old woodworking tools. I've got my grandfathers old brace and bit set. As a kid, for some unknown reason, I loved watching him use it to drill holes, and was thrilled to get it after his death. And I think you're right about him wanting you to use it.

A little more progress. Just cleaning up and removing years of dirt, dust and rust. I did refinish the saw handle.
