I used to haul snotty nosed, pre-teen ballplayers around years ago. My son and his buddies. A while back, one came by work and I found out he's gotten a little more serious about fishing as he gets older. We talked and in conversation I mentioned that I had built some rods. It just so happened I had them in the truck that night. After seeing them, he commissioned me to build him a couple, spinning and baitcaster. After going over particulars, I suggested my ideas on making things minimalist to reduce weight and increase sensitivity. Here is the 7'10" spinning rod he wants and hopefully I finish by Monday. It is a MHX MB941 from Mudhole.
