1986 Johnson 50 hp
Low compression in one cylinder (about 60psi if I remember correctly)
Mostly complete (missing primer soleniod)
The cover is the wrong year (looks like a '78 or '79
P.O. put an older set of carbs on it, I don't know what they are from.
The skeg is broken, the prop is junk.
Lower gears work ok.
Electrics all work and are complete.
Salt water motor, so the bolts holding the powerhead to the lower are completely corroded.
I've got another piston and ring set from a different tear down, that could be used in this motor.
I had bought it for the gears in the lower, but I ended up getting a full lower thrown in as a part of another deal. Now the running 50 I had is no longer in my possession, and I don't need any parts off of it.
I'll leave it up here for 2 or 3 weeks before putting it on C-list for $$.
I'm in eastern central MA, just south of the Mass Pike / I-495 interchange. Drop a note if you're interested!

Has anyone taken you up on your offer?
I would like to add that I have a 1986 Johnson 40hp available for parts as well. it is complete, and probably is an easy fix for someone who knows what they are doing. maybe someone can pick up both motors and make one good one of the two. I believe the 40 and the 50 have a lot of interchangable parts.
I don't mean to hijak your thread, but maybe someone can use both
