I didn't know about this hobby until I saw your post and did a Google just to learn a little more. Looks like it could be a lot of fun.

Thanks Ldubs , yes its a cool hobby. The images were 2 min exposures shot through a ED80 scope on a EQ mount with my K50 DSLR.
All you need is a DSLR and lens and tripod for Milky way images. her is a image with 5 second exposures with 50mm lens.
Having a dark sky helps a lot.

I was a amateur astronomer when I was younger but not as a photographer. I used to be able to name the stars but it has been 40 years since I was really involved in it.
