I try to do my best in regards to deer management on my farm. I set aside 25 acres of field, that I let nature take over. It is in it's 10th year, providing cover for deer and rabbits. (I have a pack of rabbit dogs (beagles) that I train, work, exercise in this area too).
Next to this overgrown field, I have another 20 acre food plot of clover, that keep the deer and rabbits happy.
Each year we frost seed. Frost seeding is just what it is. We plant in the dead of winter, preferably when snow is on the ground, for next falls greens. It has been very successful for me over the years.
Managing the habitat provides great satisfaction. Especially when You can see the scores of deer in the evening, grazing the clover, or bedded in the fields at night.
