Very, very nice. What size engine? Looks amazingly like my 1980 Mirrorcraft.

I have two question for my mentors on this site. Do I need a transom savor when towing the boat? Do I need a hydrofoil on the motor? It is a 25hp Honda with power tilt and power trim.

I tow with my DF9.9 motor in vertical position and do not use a transom saver. Make sure you have good clearance between road and skeg. Haven't had any issues with transom or motor on 1980 Mirrorcraft.

Never used a hydrofoil, so can't say.

It looks like the motor has plenty of ground clearance, but I'd still say Yes to the transom saver.
Whether you need a hydrofoil you won't know until you have used the boat some.

As high as the motor is mounted you might consider a jack plate.

I second the jack plate. That TH Marine mini would be great, another $800 but what the hey... Talk about being able to dial in performance... What water is this rig being used?

man, you wastin time with all the pictures and parkin on the side of a road. why aint that boat wet???? looks great! congratulations!

Here's my 1980 version of similar boat. They made 2-14' models. The one with wider beam had the 25hp max capacity.

That power jack plate is on Amazon, by-the-way...

It’s a little cold yet for boating, I do plan to go early so I can get the break in done

Does this look right with the transom savor or should the motor be higher?
