my 1972 25r 72r r does not have a manual tilt lock on it. i find no such critter in the parts fiche and see no sign that one was ever installed. it does have the reverse lock. what am i missing, not seeing? did any of these engines come with one? gotta picture?
also, what does the last r in the model number designate?

thanks

If you are asking about a lock that keeps the engine in the tilted position. No. No such system.
If you just want the engine to stay up while at the house for example then increase tension on the tilt rod screw/nut. That is what it is there for.

mr pappy, thanks for replying. i want to be able to tilt the engine while im fishing in shallow water. all outboards i have had before have had a lever that swings up and holds the engine tilted up.
where is the tensioner on the tilt rod screw nut? thanks.
