The best lure is the one the fish want, obviously, but you have to toss quite a few at times to figure that out :) I would have to say a jig, but the jig, more than any other lure, it seems, seems to be a 'mystery' lure to most, so if not that, then a smallish plastic worm in a natural color.

Yes, you can run straight to the battery, but that's not recommended, at least without a fuse or circuit breaker inline to prevent things from getting too far out of hand.

It wasn't a tinboat, but I've had a bunk break before, I ended up leaving it as it was after moving the bunk around, short ride home, though. I also lost a wheel on one of my glass boats. Taking a curve on the way to the lake, and grind!!!!! Helluva noise, and I look over to see my wheel...

That's a handy link, thanks! A stencil can be made from anything, and being camo, it doesn't have to be perfect. Go get a cardboard box, trace, cut, spray through, then toss when you're done.
