Definitely a gizzard. Sometimes you can find them double that size in there. The best bait there is for big blue cats.

I use stainless steel. Aluminum screws are hard to find and I believe I have heard they are not as strong.

How do you tell a hybrid apart from a white bass when they are that size? I would have identified that as a white bass.

I used a fish tape to get the wires through the frame on my old trailer. I am a phone technician so I already had one, but if you don't I find they're a pretty handy thing to have around the house for random jobs such as this.
