Well I final had some time to work on the boat starting with the transom. Would have loved to use aluminum but it's was just to expensive. Instead we laminated two 3/4 inch sheets of plywood together using fiberglass resin, wood screws, and 20 c clamps then coated the whole thing in resin as...

Has anyone ever installed prow lights on their johnboat?

I have seen the in person, high quality and bigger than they look online. They come with gaskets and a temp-let. Its a good solid light built to withstand the occasional bump on the dock. I put a set of smaller waterproof LEDs on my 14ft and WOW!!!!! These are Bright!!! Easily replaced two...

Excellent, you nailed it. I weld hotter than most people on steel and that habit could be a problem with aluminum. Im glad you pointed it out because I would have no idea otherwise. Gonna try your technique on some light gauge stuff. Do you have the ability to upload any videos of you welding...

That explains the deeper penetration and tendency to burn threw in the middle is the weld. I had to stop and let the weld solidify then move on which weakens the weld and stops the flow of shielding gas, creating porosity. Any suggestions to help with this problem? I will try to get a bid up...

    Jugging made lazy

I have used glow sticks, LED lights and they cant compare to the reflector tape. Lasts forever and you can see it from a half mile away. For jugs fishing when the lake is calm get a 2 ft section of half inch pvc, slide a5 inch piece of rebar inside then cap both ends of the pvc. should look...

Anyone tow their rig with their car?

HAAAHA! I thought i was the only guy with a 924 and a tow hitch! I cant believe it! As for towing with a car, No problem! I own a body shop and see no problems with towing that boat with your car. Just be safe. If someone rear ends your car will protect you from the impact, your car has a...

Argon will be here in the morning and then i will hook it up to the Lincoln 180hd and start playing. I'll try to get a vid of the setup and the learning curve. I'm on the professional side my mig and can close a one inch gap in thin gauge sheet metal on the hottest setting (220 welder), as I...

    Should I get a 2nd battery?

I would get a second battery and the biggest one you can afford. You will not have a charging system to replenish the battery on the water and flooded led acid batteries wont last very long if they are continually drained below 50%. Little extra insurance for longer days on the water. I was...
