    Inboard trolling motors

Few years back I atended an NJ Fish and Wildlife expo where the kyack people had one with a rudder and the TM head mounted in a well between the paddler's knees. One model even had twin float chambers as a stern that could fin outward for fishing stability. There has to be one out there

    Trolling Motor Electrical Connections

I used crimp connections and cover with shrink tubing long enough to provide sufficient protection. Same on the trailer LED re-wire including individual ground wires for each lamp.

Asking too much from a 9.8 Evinrude?

While not a speed demon, the 3.5 Tohatsu moves my 14' at close to 6 mph, even against the wind. I'd love to see what a 9.8 would do on that hull

    Unknown year 12' Starcraft project

Big and high for a tiny tin. Think about HOW you will get back in when you fall. Some sort of access ladder might just be in order and almost as important as a good PFD.

2 Fish Finders On 1 Boat

I have on old [NIB] Hummingbird I bought off someone who had it sitting on a shelf for years 'cause his son bought him a better one' so I gladly paid $15.00 and mounted it on the bottom of my trolling motor. A year later I found a Tohatsu and realized I couldn't use the old [monchrome screen]...

    Tin boats on trailers

I'm still using the strap that came on the trailer though there are two points on the transom where it used to use stwo stern straps. I'll consider changing over once this strap goes bad.

Balancing a 12ft Jon Boat well with oversized Outboard motor (20hp)

It is physics, you are over powering the hull. As advised above, make sure you wear the tether as a full power run WILL toss you out. Keep to the moderate speeds and start looking for a smaller engine. I use an older Tohatsu 3.5 on my 14/48 to get along at 5mph and is enough to buck a headwind...

If you live in Pa. Don't buy a trailer without a title

NJ used to give 'homemade' titles and issue a new VIN when there was a 'dealer's window'. Not sure about the current MVC

Alumacraft 1542 Front Deck Layout Help Needed

I found a moss and mold covered alumacraft 'Crappie Jon' in a driveway. The interior ribs and sides were covered with aluminum sheet and the two seats are on storage pedistal boxes. Cleaned, sanded, primed, and painted then re-carpet without any thoughts of decking. Shallow draft but able to...

    Old Lure Info

Went thru this with Pappy's old tackle. Most wasn't worth much though anything with the box was purchased along with anything old, wooden and in good shape. There was a good half dozen Heddon 'flatfish' in boxes with two guys price tags that were snapped up. I still have most of the old ruby...

    AlumaCraft vs MirroCraft

Late 60's we rented a cottage in Ontario. Choice of either a starcraft or mirocraft 14' 3 seat boats and Pappy always took the starcraft though it was a little squirrly on the larger lakes if the wind got up VRS the deeper mirocraft

Glue carpet to aluminum deck or install plywood?

My '69 Alumacraft Crappie Jon with the seats removed is flat aluminum over the ribs. I bought a indoor/outdoor remnant and a quart can of the adhesive they recommended but for insurance I added a bead of construction adhesive along the edges. I had removed the chia pet carpet [boat sat so long...
