Well, I did the roll and tip method. I must say, I felt as if I was laying down good even coats with this method. I did have to spray the self etching primer. After 3 coats of blue, it's looking pretty sharp. For under $45 this was a good little project. Hopefully if the weather stays warm...

I began removing the old paint. I actually like the look of the bare aluminum. So I'm leaning towards skipping on the silver paint and only painting the top half blue.

I plan on replacing the transom soon. Should I keep the transom the same dimensions? Or should I extend the transom near the bottom? Going to put on an 8hp motor.

I don't have access to a spray gun. Thanks for the roll tipping idea. I'll have to read and watch more on it. Seems like a good route to go.

What's the preferred method to painting the exterior, roll on paint with foam brush or rattle can spray paint?

Thanks for the info.I intended to replace the fuel lines and clamps (a few hoses were zipped tied versus clamped), I didn't think of the bulb. Here's what I'm dealing with:

Is it necessary to have a quick disconnect from the tank to fuel line? The one that i just picked up off Craigslist is held on my a clamp. Thanks

It's a 1975 Gregor 13' 4". And it's pretty dang wide and deep. I think it's about 63" at its widest point

After a 2 hour trip last night, she's finally home. Got a pretty sweet deal. Transom needs a bit of work but overall the boat is solid.

Just wondering why gluvit over steelflex? Are these similar products just goes on the exterior vs interior? Is gluvit easier to apply?
