    71' Mercury 110 (9.8hp) spark problems

Glad it worked out. One more thing, don't use the kill switch to shut the motor down, choke it off. Something about the fact how it sends the voltage to ground instead of interrupting the circuit creates problems. I think that is why the insulator blocks are such a problem. I don't know how...

    71' Mercury 110 (9.8hp) spark problems

Ahhhh... the phase maker ignition. Check all the wires under the flywheel, the insulation gets real soft. I had the same problem with a 200 model, cracked insulator blocks, then I read about the insulation, and sure enough, 3 or 4 of the wires from the stator to the coils were exposed...

    61 Lone Star Skipper ?

Hi Milt, I have the same boat, except mine was a Chrysler, the Chrysler group bought Lone Star in the early 70s. Anyways, there aren't too many mods on the site. I've notice more in the past few weeks though. The boats are great, very stable and have a huge cargo load. Mine is still in...

    I need to move south.

Thanks for the invites. I didn't have to mow the grass, but have to snowblow for the dogs to get out there. I think in between works for me. We've got our eyes on Carolina in a few years. Most companies are leaving my state for their anyways.

    Aluminum swimming pool for decking?

About 10 years ago, my brother and I did a friend's friend a favor and removed their 15 x 30 pool, with a wrap around deck. It's pretty heavy duty stuff, the walls, if they are aluminum, could be used for flooring I imagine. We scrapped ours, $1200.00, that was when aluminum was about .43/lb...

    I need to move south.

I figure you guys down south can go chuck some lures for us northerners. This is what 32 inches of snow looks like on a tin. The boat is inverted in the right hump, and the trailer, well the winch, is visible to the left. Enjoy yourselves, Andy

Give your kids an extra hug tonight

The people in that little town, in my little state, surely need to be in your thoughts, and they need all the prayers you can say. Unbelievable events today. As a parent, it makes my heart ache. Innocence is lost... Hug your kids and make some real quality time with them this weekend...

Registering a trailer in West Virginia

You will probably run into problems trying to register it as homemade if it has a vin plate. They usually stamp the vin in a couple places (axles, frame). I tried to do that in CT and got kicked out of inspection.... Now I have a 5 year Maine registration for $99.00 on my utility trailer...

    Bow cover removal replacment

Thanks for the input sixgun86. We are going to remove the existing piece of aluminum, and replace it with a piece of 1/2" ply cut in a U shape within the existing flange. I'll have to see how it feels after. Small .... low.... deck in front of the first bench with a 8" pedestal. We'll...

Rebuilding memories and making new ones (1986 GAME FISHER)

Hey dj, the water level in your first pic looks pretty low. Is that in Vermont? The fam and I are heading up next week, I heard the lakes are low. Nice Work on the restoration so far. Andy

    Bow cover removal replacment

Good Morning all, I'm a regular lurker here, nice work on all your builds. I have this family heirloom. Many days spent and memories built with my father on Long Island Sound. Now I pulled it out of the weeds, it's solid, no leaks. My kids and I are rebuilding it for some freshwater fishing...
