I'm no boat guru, this is my first time messing with a boat and outboard so I'm not positive the boat is a star craft but that's why the previous owner told me so I am going with that for now.

Picked the boat, motor, and trailer up for $300. This was the day I picked it up.

First thing that needed attention was the non existent transom. Used treated wood and some shellac

I sanded off the majority of the old paint, and I feathered in the old paint that was being stubborn. Here I have my 3 year old doing some finesse work.

I rebuilt the carb, lower unit oil and seal, new head gasket (copper gasket maker from can), new impeller, new pressurized gasket and new modern fuel line. Old cowl was in bad shape so I threw some paint on it (still waiting on graphics and need to buff )

Still a work in progress. I don't plan on any type of deck or flooring. Ill be doing lights, rod holdes and maybe seats. This is not a show boat. Will be used mostly for cat fishing My goal is to avoid adding unnecessary weight

Nice looking paint job.

You should google treated lumber and aluminum boats or do a search on here. I'm no sure if that 7.5 will plane the boat with 2 people in it. I typically think of a 9.9 as a minimum for a 14 foot boat with 2 people.

Dang didnt think about the pressure treated lumber and aluminum thing. I hope the shellac I used will keep me from having problems, did 4 coats
