Bow mount minn Kota

I need info on installing bow mount minnkota on 15' alumacraft . I recall a plate made of a 2x4? I know I need to space it near the center and have no overlap for dock damage. A little knowledge can be damaging. Thanks for your help.

I used 2 2x6s nailed together and held to my deck with aluminum L brackets. Works great for what I needed ...my minn kota edge mounting dimensions were 22"x5.25".

Thanks it was a 2x6. Alum. L brackets will do the job I may pop revit them on the deck. I'll have to send pics.

I have pics in my build thread. I was gonna use poprivets but my deck is aluminum with wood underneath so I used 5/16 self tapping bolts. If they ever come out I will weld it.
