It looks like the 14 footers are the boat of choice and if I could do it again I'd really try to go that way. Just from a stability stand point it would be nice. I'm working on my 79 Seaking 12 ft. flat bottom. It's narrow! I got the boat and a 48 lb thrust minn kota for $150. I also have a buddy that sold me a 6 horse Seaking tiller for $50. I wanted to wait to show build up pics until I'm done but I'd love to see what you guys have done with your 12 foots as well.
