New boat - Needs to be painted

The red and white 1959 Crestliner is mine, yes. My dad bought it new in '59
and has been passed from brother to brother over the years.
probably has been painted every color under the rainbow. Just before I got it
back this time, my younger brother made a duck boat out of it with a tiller steer.
He took off the front deck lid and painted it gosh awful ugly camo..... grrrrrrrrr.
The next color scheme may go back to the original Seafoam Green and Beach Sand.
all painted with Rustoleum enamels with a generic 2" home type paint brush.

IF you are going to paint it, sand it. The number one reason I have seen for paint jobs peeling is failure to prepare the metal. My last boat got sanded to bare aluminum and then on coat of oil base primer. A light sanding and it is now Ford Farm Implement Grey. The gunwales which I did not sand are peeling. Seriously, sand it!
