I just picked up a 14 semi v Sea Craft. Built in 97 , so says the title, someone had seen fit to remove the original bench seating and had intended to create decks for pedestal chairs. my boating and Coast guard experience tells me that, it's risk to place weight to far above the waterline, especially in a semi v hull design. my intentions were to go back to the standard bench seating, even if I have to make mine of wood. The trouble is, the prior owner even remove the brackets that held the old seats in place on the gunnel.
Since I have grand kids I want to introduce into fishing and the joy of small boats, I want them seated safely. So, the question is has anyone come up with a method of attaching wood bench seats or know where to find the brackets to do so? Any help is greatly appreciated.
