1979 Fisher Marine

I just purchased a 1979 Fisher Marine flat bottom aluminum boat. It came with a 1981 Johnson 50 HP motor.

The boat is 16 ft long and 4 ft wide at the bottom. The sticker with the capacity and max HP info is missing.

Do any of you guys know if this motor is too big for my boat?

I have a 1648... 48 being the bottom width... and it has a 40 horse... I think it could easily handle a 50.. or maybe 60.. 8)

Your boat looks great.

It is in better shape than mine. Mine is badly stained around the water line and a little beat up.

They are the same boats though.
