12 ft. Tracker

I was given a 12 Ft Tracker by my father-in-law. it's a a year old so it is in great shape and has only been used as a boat to clean barnacles off his big boat. The first question I have is do I have to only put the recomended 6 hp kicker on the back, or can I go bigger?

IMO I would not go bigger than the max hp on the sticker.

In todays legalistic society, if something was to happen and you had the boat overpowered, it could get real ugly for you. I wouldn't do it. If the tag says 6 that is all I would put on it. Just my opinion.
