Hatches

Hi.. I am adding side boxes to my GRUMMAN 1544 Jon building straight up from floor to Gunnell. I am going to enclose with plywood (adding some foam) and carpet but I wanted to add some storage for tackle ans such so I was shopping for a basic hatch and Wow they are pricey. Anyone know of a better idea on access or where to find these hatches like the Tempress slam hatch reasonable? Thanks.

I just bought 2 utility hatches size 7"X15" for $15 each from the tempress website. Shipping was $15, but it was still cheaper than 1 hatch on other sites.

I think they're a discontinued model.

Check out www.greatlakesskipper.com They have some decently priced hatches.

I can vouch for Tempress brand hatches...they may be a little pricey...but they are sturdy.
