i am considering a tracker 2072 with a mecury 50-4 stroke tiller. i will certainly carry ample tackle, will most likely equip with an 80lb thrust riptide, batteries in the front, on-board charger. i presently have a starbord box 40"x30'x12' that i will use for the storage compartment up front and the box is 3/4 full of baits. to much for the 50hp, ok for the 50hp, or will be fine. ?
thanks for the thoughts

Well, it will get you where you want to go, but it sure won't be speedy by any means. I was thinking that maybe the fuel savings might be substantial over a larger engine, but if all you do is plow through the water at WOT, I would think that savings might be minimal, and you probably won't be happy with the performance. I've read several times that the minimum hp on a boat should be around 75% of rated capacity.

tracker says the utility hull max hp is 60hp.
the 2072 cc is listed at 115hp.

i assume since its tiller its the utility so it might not be bad.

can you test drive it?
