Dropped my Crestliner 1850 on the deck of the boat ramp a few years ago.
Crushed the the bottom of the transom and squeezed the drain hole, so the the plug
is no longer functional. It has not leaked as of yet but I need to siphen out any rain water that
that collects in the bottom of the boat. What options do I have for repair?

I'll bet if you post some pics of the damage (inside and out) it would stimulate some informed discussion. We live for pics.

Depending on how bad its bent/smashed I have heard of people using a large punch or wood dowel sharpened to open up the hole with a hammer.

I thought I had some pictures, but I can't find them.
Boat is the shop having some maintenance done. I'll post pictures asap.

Here is a link to some pictures of the damaged area.

Can you remove the whole assembly and use a punch or other method to knock the aluminum somewhat back to original shape? Then just install a new plug. https://www.iboats.com/Nylon-Drain-Plug/dm/cart_id.695433082--session_id.612749946--view_id.49388

A friend did the same exact thing to a 1752 Lowe. Landed right on the plug hole. He took it to a fab shop and paid $40 for them to weld in a new one.

Yea I 've been afraid to mess with it, because it wasn't leaking.
But I think it needs to get fixed this spring.
I have talked to guy that welds aluminum. He said he could weld it closed and then drill a new hole
to put in a new drain tube. I wanted to see if their are any other options.
I quess I will have to take it out, to see what I need to do.
