Hi All,
I have a 1983 Evinrude 25 HP motor. Real nice shape and runs great.
My question is when flushing motor there is no way to mount muffs for motor flushing?
The water inlets are not on the vertical part of the motor shaft, and the only way i am able to flush is to put motor in a barrel.
Just wondering if they sell something that would work that you can connect to water hose to flush easier.
Thanks,
Tony

I don't know if they sell something or not, but what I have done on non-muff engines is to take off the water bypass plate and make a copy out of sheet metal. Then attach a brass hose fitting to this. then when I want to run without a bucket I slap this plate on hook up the hose and am good to run (you may consider throwing a piece of tape over the water intake screen to increase flow into the pump - or turn up the hose output).
Not an optimal solution, but it works.
I can show you a finished plate if you want, currently at work, but I think you get the idea.
