I found A 1975 merc 7.5 for sale cheap. I would like to look up the numbers on it to be sure it isn't stolen . Does anyone know where I can do this ?

Contact Don Weed at European Marine. European Marine.com, give him the serial number and he can tell you everything you need to know about that motor. And he's also really good with parts. The name is a little misleading they are actually based in Columbia South Carolina.

In some States, (Texas for one) motors have to be registered, just like boats and trailers. Some people say that it cuts down on theft. I believe them.
