30 in or 36 in shaft>>>

Got a 1232 jon....I run an electric on the transom or sometimes a gas motor but I purchased this

to make it easy to put an electric on the bow when I use a gas motor....I want to purchase a motor dedicated to the front so I can turn the head arouns and keep it there so will a 30 inch be long enough???.....my choices are a 30 lb 30 in minn kota or a 36 inch 40 lb minn kota.....

I would do the 36"/40lbs. more because of the 40 lbs. One can never have to much thrust. nothing more frustrating then not have enough power. Plus I think motor will not have to work as hard thus have more battery life.
