    1987 Evinrude 25hp 2 cyl

Im not 100% sure the headgasket was blown, I was getting water intrusion on cylinder #1, so because of the easy replacement of the heagasket i just went and did it. Before headgasket replacement compression was 110/112. After it was 112/115. Exhaust cover gasket was the next place i checked for...

    1987 Evinrude 25hp 2 cyl

I've got a '87 Evinrude 25hp. This thing has been a battle since day one. Started with headgasket, exhaust cover gasket, primer solenoid rebuild, carb clean, then carb rebuild. Now I've finally got it to were it will run great PAST 1/8th throttle, but it will not idle worth 2 pennies, nor does...

    '87 Evinrude 25hp

    * Update.. Pulled the head off, number #1 piston is definitely cleaner than #2. Going to replace headgasket and see if that fixed the issue or not.

    '87 Evinrude 25hp

I've got a 87 Evinrude "E25ECUA" Electric start, electric primer, remote control. I've been having a dead miss at idle and an inability to go past 1/4 throttle when in gear and in the water. When out of gear with no load on the motor, it will rev as high as I want it to. So far I've rebuilt...

    Capacity Plates

Heyo! I've got an '83 Monark jonboat, in which im in the process of modding, however, I never really paid attention to the capacity tag on my boat. It appears someone has painted over it, and it's just a vinyl sticker, not the stamped aluminum. I contacted Monark, which is now SeaArk, and they...

    Timing/Carb Adjustment help

Hello! I've got a 1988 Force 35hp 2 stroke outboard. I'm having trouble adjusting the carb and timing. I was wondering if anyone had any help articles on the linkage sync or helpful knowledge. The motor will run somewhat fine once its on, but I have to idle it up to get it to stay on and it...

First Post: 1959 Monark 16 foot Jon

Cool! Thanks for the info. I'm thinking about cutting my middle bench into thirds and just leaving two boxes on the sides, one for fuel and the other for battery. Seeing as how I'm making it a center console, would allow for more room, but still keep the storage. As far as the paint goes, the...

    1984 Monark B 1648 Flat Bottom

HUUUUUGEEEEEE update! I've got the transom finished finally, motor mounted, and everything race ready. Got to run the boat in a canal for the first time, boat runs great, still a little adjusting to do, but she pushes pretty good. I discovered a few motor parts I'm lacking, so ordered them...

Great looking boat man, this kind of what I want to do with mine, pretty much the exact same boat. Only difference is that mine is a '84. How does the boat handle with the seats out? I want to take my middle seat out but I'm worried about stability and rigidity. Also, I ordered a gallon of...

    1986 Force 35hp

Nevermind, did some more research and the hole behind the bolt thing is just a drain. Now another questions arises; What's a good way to check timing and set timing on these motors, or is it even possible because the timing advances with the throttle linkage?

    1986 Force 35hp

I'll try to take a picture as soon as I can, most likely wont be able to get one up until Monday. Thanks for the carb issue help though, was seriously worried about that one, haha.

    1986 Force 35hp

Heyo! I recently got my motor back together and running after having it sit apart for three months. She fires up and runs, a little rich, well.. a lot rich, but I've yet to make any adjustments. My issue is that I appear to have a gassy-oily substance leaking from where the exhaust snout bolts...

    1984 Monark B 1648 Flat Bottom

First post in awhile, haven't gotten a lot done lately, dad gave me a little motivation and we started on the transom. Cut out part of the aluminum in the transom, went and bought a 9' stick of 2x6x1/8th aluminum to put in, having my brother weld 'er up with a spoolgun and then she should be...

    Missing title & Registration

I just went through this with a 14 footer I had. When you claim home made, an officer has to come inspect the vessel and write a report, or so St. Lucie County DMV tells me. I thought of doing the same, but luckily found a guy to buy it. I'd talk to your DMV.

    1984 Monark B 1648 Flat Bottom

Ordered some more stuff, should be about the last few things I need. Still need to get some 10 gauge marine wire to run my trolling motor connector to the battery and then I need some 4 gauge to extend my battery cable to the motor.

    Hi All! New here!

Welcome aboard! I guess you could say you and I are in the same boat, I'm trying to do my build as cheaply as possible considering I'm 17, in highschool, with a job that barely pays for insurance and gas. Anywho; A friend and I went in as partners about two years ago on an almost identical...

    Moving console

Yeah, it was bolted right to the side of the hull and then bolted to the stringers.
