thats exactly what i was thinking about last night. im gonna use 1/4 5052, 3/8 pine and 3/4 pine in that order so the 5052 sits against the factory tin on the transom. im also gonna put a peice of 1/4 5052 on the back of the transom where there was a 1/4 inch peice of ply from the factory.
