I don't know for sure, but I've got an Uncle that will! US Navy Vietnam Vet. I'll ask.

Ok guys! My Uncle says, "Civil defense. This was a government rescue boat to be used in floods ect."

So there ya go Steve. You were right. =D>

I copied the pic and posted on my fb page. Our son-in-laws and several of their friends think we all need one of these! Where is it located?

Thanks for sharing.

I was snooping around on Alweld's web site the other night and noticed they'll build all the way up to a 28'

https://www.alweld.com/custom_boats_flat_bottom.html

Can you imagine a 2836? If you bungeed yourself to the seat you probably could do kayak rolls with it.

I've always had 14/48 boats but got a wild hair and bought an 18/60. I ended up hating it. It was a lot of trouble to launch in some small lakes I fish and it seemed like it took 15 minutes to get from the tiller motor to the trolling motor. :D

I bet that dude was stable though, being that wide! Might as well to have just gone on and bought a regular bass boat.

I think one of these 22 footers would be fun and the novice of it would be hysterical, but I bet it would be hard to maneuver. just sayin......

Like Steve said, "Bow Thrusters"! :LOL2:

I love that boat just think of the decking possibilities.... And storage... Yeah buddy I have a 1236 so space is TIGHT but a 2236 I could basicly move in I wonder how it would handle large waves .. Think it flexes any??

neat thing about those long boats is that on waters that have a small limit of fish, like around here you can keep 5 per person, you can take 4 or 5 people and keep 20 or 25 fish.

Up North in Michigan they have a unique boat called the Au Sable River Boat that was originally used during the logging days. Later fly fishermen used them. There are still quite a few around.

A similar looking boat was developed and used in Arkansas.

That one looks like a river boat.

BTW: they are quite stable. In nautical engineering, doubling the length of a boat has the same effect as doubling the width.
