The rear bench seat in my jon has cracks around previous bolt holes. How can I make a lasting fix of these cracks? I thought about riveting another piece of aluminum on top the length of the bench. Any other suggestions?

if you go that rout, drill a hole at each end of the crack to keep it from spreading.(stopdrill)

If you have the funds you could take it down to the welding shop and have it welded up and fixed for good.

Hope this helps,Lil Jon

I have the same issue with mine.I plan to cut the tops of the benches out,pop rivet in some 1x1 aluminum angle, and cut some 1/2 inch ply to make seat hatches.Pop(AKA cherry) rivets are not hard to deal with. It's the solid rivets used to hold hull seams together. These should be used below the water line or in areas that may get water spray.
