Putting new seats in on pedestal bases and I am looking for a good deal on something sturdy. I weigh 300# and my fishing partner is 290# and we have already snapped off a set of metal hinged seats. Need something we can lean back on. If you know of a good deal send me a link. Thanks

That's a real tough question (at least to me). My best suggestion would be to check with some of the boat manufacturers...see what they would recommend if you were buying one of their boats. Bet they might have a solution, cause you can't be the only person with this issue.

If you get an answer....let us all know. That's good info to have.

Roondog...

I was out for the past 3 days and couldn't help but think of your seating issue. I kept watching the seats that people had and wondering how sturdy their seats were. I have always been impressed with the Lund boats and saw several yesterday. Their seats looked amazingly sturdy and comfortable to boot. I'm sure they are quite expensive...but you might want to look into those. Might just be the ticket. I myself would like to have a couple of those in my boat. Actually....I'd love to have the whole boat, but they just aren't a good fit for my shallow running.

Still like to know what you find. Good luck.

My dad always said "don't buy cheap seats". I used to weigh 313# and used the standard plastic fold down seats. They are comfortable and they held up pretty well...

Anyway, I see Cabelas also has the "Big Man" chairs. I can't vouch for it, but it's worth a look anyway. https://www.cabelas.com/folding-boat-seats.shtml

Also, I like the fat posts, not the little skinny ones. Checkout Bufford's mod... https://www.tinboats.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=9912&hilit=12+foot
