1970 or 1971 sea king

I am about to buy a sea king 3.5 hp
the model number is j3501106 and the type is a 6027003 r
dose any body know who makes this motor ?
as it seams they were farmed out by Montgomery wards .
so if it needs parts I can try to hunt then down and get the right ones that fit.

any body know the difference between the sea king and the Clinton chief ?
other than one was sold by wards. and who makes after market parts for them?

If you want great information or parts for the Sea King go to www.aomci.org then to the "ask a member" section. You will learn anything you want to learn about the engine.
As to the differences between the Sea King and the Clinton Chief? Totally different, nothing interchanges as far as I know. Same website for either engine though.

thanks pappy, I got it to start and run for a bit, but I think the carb will need to be worked as it runs in start but dies in slow and sputters in high. so I think some gasket meteral and to clean it will be next.
