I'll probably get pounced for this too.
..... but it works.
Get yourself one of those live traps like a Have-a-heart (or however you spell it). One of the small cage traps. You can bait it with dog or cat food or canned tuna.
The skunk will get in that trap but will not spray. After he has been caught in the trap, get yourself a sheet or blanket and hold it in front of you as you slowly approach the trap. Lay the sheet over the trap, covering it so that the skunk can't see. It won't spray. You can then transport the thing anywhere that you want to get rid of it.
The last step to make sure that you're not sprayed in the process... lower the trap into a pond or creek full of water until the skunk is no more.
That last part isn't going to set well with some people, but that is the way problem skunks are removed and "relocated".
If you try to release the thing while it's still alive, you're more than likely going to wind up with some nasty cologne.
