For those of you that have carpeted your boat, did you use a pad? I'm thinking no pad, but that heavy anti fatigue pad in high use areas. Any thoughts and/or suggestions?

I didn't use one simply because of the layout, but it is certainly a great idea. I would be sure to glue it and the carpet down so it doesn't slip around.

Never used it, but I suspect it would be a pain to form around tough areas.

Another thing to make sure is that it is completely unable to absorb water, or it'll be pretty nasty after a rain or two!

Concur. Make sure the pad is closed-cell foam or something that doesn't absorb water. I believe a few of the high-end fiberglass boats have the option of padded front decks just for the purpose of fighting fatigue from standing a lot.
